PIGS

Yesterday Morning before Ty's Basketball game we headed to Royal to watch a Pig competition, or in our case just see all the pigs and show our support to the School  District. Plus, our family loves any opportunity to go to the FAA building. We had fun looking at the all the pigs and then we watched some of the Judging.
GK was the most excited and she of course wanted to dress the part. As soon as we told her we were going to see the Pigs she ran to her room screaming for her "horsey clothes" in other words Cowgirl clothes and of course her purple Horse, Pink. Georgia Kate has really become obsessed with dress up and I love it. She got an assortment of dress up clothes for Christmas and her favorites are Tinkerbell, because of the fairy wings that came with them, and Doc McStuffins coat. GK has such a fun and cute imagination and we love seeing all of her different Costume changes through out the day.
In honor of Pigs we watched Charlotte's Web last night as our family movie. It was fun to be able to share on of my favorite Children's book and Movie with Tyler and Georgia Kate. I forgot what a great story line Charlotte's Web has. Such a perfect choice for our family movie.

Basketball

Today was Tyler's first Basketball game and it was a great first game. Well, we did lose but that is beside the point. We are playing through the YMCA in Sealy and it has been great fit for us. Ryan is Coaching, again. He always says he is not going to Coach anymore, but he is always asked and always says yes! I know I would probably do the same if I were in his shoes. But, Tyler loves having his Daddy as his Coach so it works well for us now.
Georgia Kate actually did really well and enjoyed cheering on Tyler from the bleachers. In all honestly the popcorn she got from the concession stand might of helped. ;)
After the game we decided to enjoy lunch outside at Sonic. Tyler's pick! It was such a beautiful day outside so it felt great to get some fresh air while eating lunch.
We are ready for a fun Basketball Season. Go BULLS!!

Story Hour

Ryan started reading with Tyler on Sunday out of his first Chapter Book: Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims. The Author of the book is Rush Limbaugh. For those of you know who know Ryan I'm sure your not surprised by this selection. Ryan ordered this book before Christmas and has been trying to find the perfect time to start reading with Tyler. I guess it is never to soon to begin Ty's love for Rush. Ryan is a huge fan and I have learned that if I am ever in the car with him when Rush is on, there is no talking. ;)
Ryan has yet to rope in the youngest Steele in to listening to this book during story time, but I'm sure it is only a matter time.

Back To Reality

Our Christmas Break has officially came to a end today, as Tyler and Ryan went back to School and Work. We had the best two weeks off, and last week we were able to do a lot of fun family activities. On Friday we spent the afternoon at Jump Zone. Both Tyler and Georgia Kate had a blast and loved trying out all the fun bounce areas. We truly are so thankful for all the fun opportunities we have close by, and I really hope we can find the time and opportunity to continue to explore all that the cities close to us have to provide.
The first morning back to School after two weeks off went very smoothly. Tyler got right up and was excited about going back to School, and for that we are thankful. However, GK was a little lost this morning with out her Bubby and Daddy. She searched all over the house for them and just seemed so lonely most of the day. I think we both love when Tyler and Daddy are around and this break was just a little too fast for both of us. I think I will start the countdown to Spring Break!!
I had to run to HEB for groceries and there is a Chick Fil A close by and we have Christmas gift cards, so I treated GK to a fun lunch at her favorite place. I think that cheered her up a little. ;)
Next week MOPS sarts back up and I also signed up for the Spring Bible Study (the same group that I did in the Fall) and that begins next week, as well. It will be nice to have activities to fill our day with and I'm really hoping to start forming some close friends this Spring. Tyler also has his first Basketball game this weekend, so we are ready for a fun Season. We love cheering on Tyler and watching him do what he loves.

New Year's Festivities

I must admit we have had a nice week off and being home all together. Ryan did go in to work for a few hours today, but other than that we have truly soaked up this last week before going back to our weekly school/work routine. We worked hard when we got home on Sunday to take down Christmas and make room and re organize toys and games for all the new stuff. Christmas is officially down and all the new stuff has a place in our house.
On New Year's Eve we decided to treat Ty and Georgia Kate to a movie, Frozen. I might have been just as excited as Tyler about seeing this. I have heard so many good things about this movie and friends going to see it for a 2nd time. Well, I'm a huge fan and really want to download the soundtrack. Georgia Kate actually sat through it, so I call that a success! All the popcorn she consumed might of helped. ;)
This was the first year in a long time that we stayed home and I really enjoyed it. We did a early toast and celebration with Tyler and Georgia Kate. It was so much and Ty and GK loved  drinking out of a plastic champagne glass and of course they love toasting. After the kids went to bed we vegged out on the sofa and watched 3 episodes of Downton Abbey. After all the talk and hype we finally gave in on Saturday and started watching. We finished up Season 1 on Tuesday and started Season 2 last night! I think it is official, we are fans!!
We are so thankful for a New Year and can't wait to see what God has in store for us this year.

Time Away

I was so thankful for my time in Temple with my Parents, Tyler, and Georgia Kate. We of course stayed very busy and traveled some more, but it was all worth it.
We all loaded up on Friday morning and headed to Rockwall to visit my Grandmother whom is currently in a rehab facility but looks wonderful and getting stronger by the day. We enjoyed lunch and a nice visit with Ma, before hitting the road back to Temple. On Friday evening I was able to sneak away for some Girl time with some of my favorite friends. We enjoyed a nice dinner and playing catch up. I miss all my precious friends so much and long to form meaningful friendships in our new City.

Tyler and GK loved all the extra time with Ghee and Poppy. We did lots of playing and exploring.

We love, Ma!! She was in absolute Heaven loving on Tyler and GK. She also handled all the questions Tyler asked her... I am sure he asked over 100 questions! ;)
So thankful for these special friends and the time we were able to spend together.
Ryan came to Temple on Saturday morning and we loaded up some miscellaneous items from our house, I think we now have everything out. On Sunday we made the trip back to Brookshire. It was so hard for me leave Temple, and tears fell from my face as I drove out of the city limits. You would think it would get easier to leave but I am not sure if it ever will.
