Weekend Wrap Up

Shay!! We are so proud of you. Georgia Kate was asleep in her car seat, so we decided not to bother her.
Tyler, Callie, Georgia Kate, Jake, and Caleb. Sweet Cousins.
It looks like both of our kids are going to be fish this Summer. So thrilled GK likes it since she was not a huge fan of the Splash Pad. :)
GK with two of her Aunts: Aunt Stacy and Sherri
Last weekend we headed to Fort Worth for a Graduation Weekend. Ryan's Niece graduated from High School last Friday night so we went to celebrate Shay! What a fun celebration weekend we had. We had Graduation on Friday and then Saturday evening we had a fun graduation party at Joe T Garcia's. When we were not celebrating Shay we were in or by Nana and Papa's pool. Saturday Morning the kids were in the pool before 7am! Both Tyler and especially Georgia Kate did really well for being off schedule and later than normal evenings. What a wonderful weekend with Ryan's family.
We left on Sunday and headed home to swim and have pizza with Poppy. Both kids slept in on Monday Morning... we had worn them out. On Monday we had some nice family time at home so we could rest for a fun Memorial Day BBQ with friends. We have had something everyday and night this week which make things a little crazy... not to mention last week of School. Today officially marked the beginning of Summer for our family. YAY!!! Summer is here and we are ready.

22 Months

" We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17

Honestly, today feels like it was just yesterday when Landry was born. It feels like we just said good-bye...... how can it be 22 months? We are two months away from 2 years, 2 years when he first held our littlest and then had to say good-bye. I am missing Landry like crazy today. Ryan even called from work today to say he was thinking about our littlest a lot today, too. Some days still hurt for both of us, and today is one of those days when the tears keep falling. I am so thankful that Ryan and I can still lean on each other on days like today. Days when the pain is still so deep.
Healing does come from the hurting, and we have seen God working in our life the past 22 months. We love you, Landry James and think of you every single minute of the day, Landry. I know everyday we are getting closer to seeing you again and I love that thought.

Wrap Up

Love these pictures. I love how Landry is included.
Ryan's Spring softball season came to a close on Sunday afternoon. We had a wonderful time watching Ryan play and Ty was always excited about being the bat boy.
Tyler and Georgia Kate even loved watching me play, too. Yes. you read that right. This first time I got talked in to playing I led Ryan's team to their first victory! :) It seems that his team was always short of female players, and I was always there with tennis shoes on, maybe next time I wont wear tennis shoes and they wont be able to ask me. You know I actually had a fun time. They were all just playing to have fun and it was not competitive at all... which is what made it ok for me to play. I am not good, and I am ok with that. I just played because they needed me and I wanted to have fun. Our family loved our Sunday fun days at the baseball field.
I am still waiting on my team shirt, Ryan. :)

Time Out

I love these two and the joy they bring to our home. These two really help me put everything into perspective, and I need that some times. Things around here are getting little hectic so you may be stuck with just pictures.... working on time management is a must... phew! It is almost 9:30 pm and I am still finishing up emails. It is all part of the new journey, so I am going to enjoy the ride!

Splash

Splash Pads are open and ready for Summer! We love Summer and are ready for pools and splash parks. Therefore, yesterday we thought we would go break in the splash pad by our house. I think everyone else had the same thought because it was really crowded. I got our little bathing beauty all ready for her first visit... well, she was not a big fan. I will admit the water was really cold. At least she was looking good.... she fit the part perfectly.
We had a great family weekend. The end of school is winding down fast and we are all ready for some Summer Fun.

Gavel Passed

 Allison, Me, Pam, and Christina
 Amber, Pam, Me, and Nikki
Me and Pam. I showed Pam my logo after it was finalized and she immediately said she thought of Landry. I love it.
On Tuesday night at our Annual Dinner and Award ceremony the gavel was passed! I was very pleased with how everything turned out.
My theme for this League year is Rise Up. I had actually had my theme and song picked out for a while. I remember sitting with Ryan several weeks ago trying to find ideas for my logo, and we came upon the movie logo for "UP" and that was it. I loved the balloons and what they symbolize to my family. My goal is for our members to Rise Up and push our existing projects to new heights, and during that time we can Rise Up and through our actions leave a legacy on the lives of others.
I was trying to think how I could incorporate my theme with the placement cards and our evening to get members excited about their new placements and our year. That is when I decided that we could tie a balloon to the placement card and at the end of speech I asked members a simple question. "How are you going to Rise Up next year?" They were then asked to write it on the balloon and then we would go and release the balloons! LOVE, and I thought of that all by myself. :) Thanks to our amazing nominating and placement committee for all of their help, and getting there early to help me. I love our members.
The balloons represented how we will rise by lifting others. My close friends and family that know me and my story all had tears in their eyes when they saw my logo and heard my plan.... I only shared it with a few people before Tuesday because I wanted it to be a surprise. My sweet friend Christina, immediately put her arms around me after we released the balloons, and said I love everything about your theme. :)
Thank you Ryan for all of your help and support during the past couple weeks and especially on Tuesday.... you will make a great President's husband. Ha!!
Rise UP and let your heart be changed.

Mother's Day

Taking a peak at Ghee's gift.

Mother's Day was extra special for me this year as we were able to dedicate Georgia Kate on Sunday Morning at our Church. My parents came and Tyler even went up with us as we presented Georgia Kate to our Church Family and God. It felt so amazing to be able to stand up this year. It was such a beautiful moment for our family. Daily we strive to raise our children in a loving Christian home, and to love God and be thankful for all that he provides with us.
My heart still longed for that other little boy who made me Mommy as well, but we did get to spend some time at Landry's grave site so that meant a lot to me. I am truly thankful for all three of our children.
After Church we went to my parents house for lunch and presents. We got Ghee birthstone charms of all 3 of her Grands, just what she wanted. I loved being able to include Landry in that gift. Ryan had my Blog turned into a book, well January-June 2008. Supposedly I write too much to get a whole year in book. :) I love it and I think Ryan is set for a while.. lucky!! What a special day.
This week has been non stop and I finally had some down time today which was so nice. I think the rest of May will be the same as this week, but busy is what we do best.

My Mom

I forgot to give a shout out to my Mom on Sunday! I adore you and your support. Your call today to check on me and make sure that I have everything ready for tonight.... made my day. You have been so proud of me and my journey with the League, and your never ending encouraging words make this new adventure seem possible. Thank you, Thank you. I love you so very much and I love that you are Mom, but I am lucky to call you my friend.
My stomach has turned into a ball of nerves. Only a couple more hours.... yikes!! :)

Shopping In Style

On Friday I decided to take Georgia Kate out of her car seat and let her enjoy a whole new view and experience at Target. She looks so tiny sitting in that big cart, but she did really well and I think she enjoyed the freedom from her car seat.
Tomorrow night is the passing of the gavel! Therefore, my thoughts are not really focusing on too much right now. I am not sure how to feel.... excited or terrified.  :) I do feel ready for tomorrow, so I guess that is a start.

All Because Of You

The reason I am called Mommy. Thank you Tyler, Landry, and Georgia Kate for making me a Mommy. You three have each brought so much to my life and I am a better person because of you. I will love you forever and always.

Labor Of Love

The concrete for Landry's sidewalk was poured on Thursday. It really turned out so nice and it makes such a wonderful addition to the Baby Land area. I have gone back the past 2 days to check on it. LOVE.
We decided to put Tyler and Georgia Kate's hand and foot prints across from Landry's plot and I love it. The workers were so wonderful and very patient with us, because Ty immediately put his hand down as soon as it was poured, so they had to smooth it over. Of course when we got the right spot and it was time we had to do a few takes as well, sweet GK was not thrilled about the cold concrete, and Ty always looks like he has huge hands when he is done. :) Well, we did the best we could. Thankfully, Ghee and Poppy were there to help make it all run smoothly.
And of course it started to rain just just as they were finishing up so my Dad got tons of tarp and covered it up, he is always prepared. He stayed out their for a while just to make sure everything was ok. That thought just puts tears in my eyes, because it reminds of how my Dad sat with Landry all night in the NICU. Thank you, Poppy for loving Landry and your dedication to his sidewalk. Your labor of love means the world to me.

Park Time

Georgia Kate sitting next to her brother's names. :) It is time to get GK's name added.
First swing ride at a park. I think we found another favorite thing.

Tyler showing of his swinging skills as well. He was going really high, but I always seem to snap too late.
We had a wonderful time at the park during Ty's Soccer Party last night. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to have some family time together. I was gone Tuesday and Wednesday night, which is a lot. I do not like to miss two nights in a row. I love bedtime and I hate when I have to miss, but Ryan has become a champ with our bedtime routine.
Tomorrow is the first Saturday in a couple of months that we wont have soccer and I am kind of looking forward to it. It will be nice to have some much needed family time this weekend.
