Sleepy Sunday

This afternoon I attended my first Historic Preservation League of Temple Board Meeting (Our neighborhood association). Ty was not happy about me leaving so of course there were some tears. After I left Ryan told Ty that if he was going to cry he could go to his room, so he did. Ryan went back to check on his a few minutes later and Ty was asleep. I started laughing when I saw these pictures. Ty fights naps but this goes to show that sometimes he just needs to rest.
My first HPLT meeting was great. It is a wonderful organization that works hard to keep our neighborhood beautiful and provides numerous activities for our neighborhood and community. We do an Easter Egg Hunt, 5-K walk and run, 4th of July parade, and many more. This association is one reason what I wanted to move to the North Side. I also decided to step right up and serve on the Board. I was co-chairing the 4th of July parade, but when our good friends the Marshall's moved from the neighborhood they needed a Vice President/President Elect, so I thought I would really get my feet wet and take it on! Yes, That means I will be President for the the HPLT (with a new born). Overall it was a very informative meeting and I met a lot of wonderful neighbors. We have a large Board so it really helps. I love being involved so I will continue to help Whitney with the 4th of July parade and I am also going to co-chair a committee for the 5-k in April with my friend, Lacy. I have a deep passion for helping our community and neighborhood.
Well, we are ready for a new week and will be preparing to host Supper Club at our house on Super Bowl Sunday!

Thomas The Train Party

This afternoon we headed to Hudson's 3rd Birthday Party! There were trains everywhere so Ty was so happy. I can't believe this is the only picture I got but Ty was so happy and content playing with his friends that I enjoyed be able to sit and talk to friends, too. It felt to be around today. Ryan has not been home until late the past three nights so I am worn out. Ty was in the bath when Ryan got home from class and he had the biggest smile on his face. It is hard when Ryan is not around but we are trying to make the best of it. Well, I am done..... I really have no energy left. I think the past three days of Ryan being gone have worn me out. I keep reminding myself that I am going to have two next year so I need to get over it and stop throwing myself pity parties..... Sorry! I think I am venting. I know that I am not alone and it will get better. I need to remind myself of how lucky I am that I can stay home and be with Ty and our new peanut. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

PJ Day

Today was PJ Day at Ty's MDO! Ty thought it was so fun getting to wear pj's to school today. All of the kids looked so cute and comfy. I know I say this all the time but I love this school!! They are always planning fun and exciting activities for the kids and Ty has started asking me on days that we don't go to school if he can go to school. We are so blessed to have found such a wonderful MDO program for Ty.

2 1/2 Years Old

Yesterday, Ty officially turned 2 1/2. I am still in shock that I am going to have a 3 year old soon. I guess the biggest change will be becoming a big brother, but I think he is ready.... I hope! Ty is such a sweet boy and I know he will love his baby brother or sister.
Ty truly is becoming a big boy! He his talking up a storm and is ready to try anything. Ty's new favorite is counting. I love this big boy so much and I am so proud of him!! We still have a lot to tackle (like potty training) but when Ty is ready then that is what we will do. We love you, Tyler Justin! Thank you for being our son.
I know this is short but Ty is napping so I am going to go lay down while I can.... :)

Oh' BABY

The Steele family will become a family of FOUR in August. We are so excited to finally be able to spread the word. I am officially out of the first trimester!! I found out on November 29th that we would be adding to our family, and we told the majority of our family during Christmas. We had our first official Dr's appointment On December 31 when I was 8 weeks. That was also our first sonogram, too. I will say that I had good days and some bad days. I guess the worst part was the nausea and being really tired. Being pregnant the second time a round is completely different than the first because you can't always rest. Needless to say we are so thankful to have another baby on the way and I know Ty will make a great big brother. This afternoon we had our monthly Dr's appointment and everything is going well. We heard a strong and fast heart beat of 162. I loved hearing that heart beat today!! May the lord bless and keep our newest member safe and healthy. Ty looks very excited about being a BIG brother. We will see if he still has that smile on his face on August 8th. I need to find a shirt that fits him.... I had a hard time finding a big brother shirt for him.

Here is the newest addition!!! We are so thankful for this wonderful blessing and can't wait to find out if Ty will have a baby brother or sister..... We find out March 2!!!

Making Progress

We had another productive Sunday. The boys are working very hard on our new renovation. I am impressed with how much they have done on their own. I think we are getting close to the foundation being poured. I can really see what the finished product will look like and I am very excited. Ty brought his tool box out to help a little. However, Ty prefers the "real" tools over his plastic tools.
After all the work we headed to the park for a little fun and then Ryan headed down the street for some ping pong. What a nice Family Sunday! Taking a little break. I just love this face!

Disco Dance Party

Saturday we went to a Yo Gabba Gabba Disco Dance Party for Sadie and Amelia. It was a fun afternoon filled with tons of music and playing!! Sadie is all ready for the big party! What a cute little 2 year old.
Hudson and Ty eating at the Diner. Ty had a great time cooking and eating in this Diner Kitchen.

The 2 Birthday girls blowing out their candles. The best part about this is Ansley, the little girl in front of the cup cakes blew out the candles for them. I think joint Birthday are the way to go.
This Dance party was complete with a Disco Ball and Balloon Drop. I love this picture below of Ansley, Ty, and Jackson. All of the kids had a blast with the balloons.
What a fun Saturday. We are gearing up for a Thomas the Train party this Saturday. I will say that I was all partied out on Saturday, because we had an evening Birthday party to attend as well. However, we had a great time and saw a lot of friends we had not seen in a while. Ty spent Saturday night with his Ghee and Poppy and slept until 8:30am! I think Ty was all partied out, too! We are ready for a low key. We have a few plans but not too much going on which is always nice sometimes.

Feel The Beat

The past two days have been absolutely beautiful so we have spent the majority of our days outside. We did have a fun playgroup at open gym today, too. I still need to get pictures.
Today I decided to bring out some music and Ty sat and moved to the beat. I love that he is sitting on Ryan's lawn mower. During some songs Ty would start singing and repeat a few of the words.

Ty has his hands up while listening to Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. I can't help it... I love that song and so does Ty.

It is a good thing Ty was getting his groove on this afternoon because it was helping him prepare for a Yo Gabba Gabba Disco Dance Party tomorrow afternoon for his friends Sadie and Amelia. After that party Ryan and I have a Surprise Birthday Party to attend. It is a Birthday Party Saturday! The only bad news about this weekend is Ryan's starts class tomorrow. We have really enjoyed having Ryan home on Saturday's. At least Ryan is home tonight. He has been gone the past two nights and has not seen Ty. Ty had a BIG hug for his Daddy when he got home today. Have a wonderful weekend!

Potty Time......

The "Toilet Training In Less Than One Day" arrived today so I guess we are getting close. I hope we are ready for this. My goal is to try but not force Ty. I know he will pee on the potty when he is ready.
I do have some incentive to get him trained because I enrolled (started the application process) Ty at Christ Church School today for next School year 2010-2011 and he needs to be potty trained before then. We have heard wonderful things about this school and program so I hope all goes well and we can get in. Ty will start going 3 days a week during the Morning. Well, I guess this means I better start reading!

Locked In

On Monday I think I joined the worst Mother of the year club. I will start by saying that nap time has turned in to drama 101 at our house. My little routine boy has been testing me for a month during nap time. Some days Ty will just refuse to nap. I am guessing it is just a stage, I hope. I am not ready for him to give up naps just yet. Therefore, on Monday I did our nap time routine, well Ty screamed the whole time because he knew what was coming. After story time I put him in his bed and he immediately stood up and screamed "No" I put him back down and just walked out of the room and shut the door. He screamed for about 15 minutes. It seamed like hours. All of the sudden I did not hear him, and 30 minutes went by and still nothing! After about an hour I thought I would go check on him. Well, I go to open Ty's door and it is LOCKED!!! Ty is locked in his room asleep. I am still not sure how it got locked... Well, I am freaking out and start to panic, so I call Ryan in tears and tell him how I am the worst mother and Ty is locked in his room and I can't get him out. Of course Ryan was just laughing. Well, Ryan came home and saved the day. The best part is Ty never woke up during this whole mini nightmare. I guess he will never know. Ryan was so great to drive 30 minutes home and then 30 minutes back to work. Ty never knew Daddy was home either! I guess from know on I will check the door..... The good news is Ty napped Monday, not Tuesday, but today. Every other day is not bad! I will take it. We are having a great week. We went to Bible Study this Morning, went for a walk and played at the park with a neighbor and then had dinner with Ryan. Ryan has been working a lot lately so I thought it would be good for Ty to see Ryan. Ryan also starts back at A&M this weekend so it is going to be a long few months for us. Thank goodness we keep busy so the time goes by fast.

Spicy Supper Club

On Saturday night we had a "Spicy Style" Supper Club at the Marshall's House. The Marshall's opened up there beautiful new home to us. We had a wonderful night filled with good friends, good food, and a lot of laughter. I cherish our Supper and always enjoy our time together. We have a great group that always keeps us laughing.
We our hosting the next Supper Club at our house in February for the Super Bowl! I can't wait. Ryan is already working on some friendly bets.

Just Like Daddy

Ty likes anything that belongs to his Daddy. The other Morning Ty got one of Ryan's ties and wanted me to put it on him and then he found a hat and some of Ryan's shoes and below is what you get!
We had a wonderful and busy weekend and are having a good Monday so far. Unfortunately, Westphalia did not get today off so Ryan is at work. Have a great day!

Heart Gallery

On Friday night the I had the opportunity to volunteer at our local Cultural Activities Center for the art opening of The Heart Gallery of Central Texas. The display was of all the children in Central Texas that were in Foster Care but are in need of adoption. The children were so beautiful. As wonderful as the exhibit was it was also heart breaking at the same time. The majority of the children were older and the sad part of that is that at age 17 those children in Foster Care go out of the system and on there own. I can not even imagine. It was a great evening and then I noticed this video that explained more about The Heart Gallery. It lasts about 7 minutes. I will admit I was in tears. It truly is a blessing to be part of an organization whose main focus area is the development and well being of children. You will find the video link below.

At It Again

Another weekend of hard work and tearing down. It is too cold and muddy for me but Ty, Ryan, and Poppy could care less. I think Ryan knows that this is his last Saturday off so he might as well get to work! However, I am staying busy inside will cooking and printing recipes for Supper Club tonight!! I can't wait. It is hard to be gone again since I have been gone almost every night this week but it will be nice to have an evening with Ryan and wonderful friends. I had a wonderful evening of volunteering last night. I am still amazed how many life's the JL is touching and last night was a great example. I love what I do!!

Mix and Match

This is what happens when a 2 year old (almost 21/2) picks out his own Pj's. Ty would wear his "Chu Chu Jacket" every night if I would let him.
I was just thankful to be home in time to put this precious face to bed. I will be gone the next two nights and I have already missed bed time once this week so It was great to be home in time. Bedtime is one of my favorite parts of the day. Well, this week has worn me me out so I am going to go and enjoy some time with Ryan while watching Grey's Anatomy!! I can't wait. Have a great night and a wonderful weekend.

Ty watching Curious George (a new favorite) with Cooper.

John Deere Boy

Ty only wants to do one thing and that is ride his tractor. Ty could care less if it is freezing he just want to ride tractor ride.... We hear that a lot.
We have a busy week and weekend so I will try my post to post something everyday. Starting tonight I have something every night this week. Thank goodness Ryan's work schedule is not too hectic yet.
I have another Ty Moment that Ryan told me to put on the blog. So here you go: As soon as Ryan shut the door to leave this Morning for work Ty started calling for me so I go in and say good Morning. I asked Ty if he heard Daddy leave and he said "um...yeah" I asked him "Where did Daddy go this Morning" He looked me in the eye and said "Daddy at work" he sounded so funny. Today when I picked Ty up from school I asked him what he did today at School and this is what Ty said "I fell down" I guess that is all he remembered. Have a good week.

Something To Remember

I use my Blog as a journal a lot of rimes so I can remember special moments, milestones, are anything about Ty. I thought this story was worth remembering.
This Morning while I was in the shower Ty walked in and handed me his stinky(dirty) diaper. The best part was he was naked. He had taken off his Pj's and socks but he remembered that his dirty clothes go in his dirty clothes hamper. What will Ty do next? This month Ty's personality has really started to develop and he is saying and doing some funny things.
After a few of my friends heard about this they thought Ty was ready to start potty training! Yikes. After two recommendations of this book I ordered:" Toilet Training in Less Than A Day". I have heard many success stories from friends who did it and it worked for them. We will see if Ty is ready. However, I am not going to push him because Ty needs to be ready. I will say that he sits on the potty at school and has gone before. However, he has not done that at home yet. I will keep you posted on this journey!

Work Day

We spent the majority of our Sunday working on the demolition of our garage. My Dad has spent all weekend over here helping/guiding us. We (Ryan) would not be able to do a lot of this work with out the guidance from my Dad. I can't say we because I am just the one taking pictures and trying to keep Ty out of the way. Ty is going to love this remodel project. He is already having a great time watching and touching everything. We are trying to do the majority of the demo work ourselves before we bring in the contractors. It is going to be a long road but I can't wait for the finished product!!! I am trying to get as many before and during shots as a I can. This is a copy of our floor plan. We have tweaked it a few times but we finally got it the way we like it. My Dad has had this vision since we first looked at the house. I can't wait for more space and CLOSETS!!! Plus a utility room. Our washer and Dryer are currently in our garage and I hate doing laundry in a garage.

Ryan, Ty, and Poppy getting ready to work. I love this picture.

I am surprised Ryan did not fall asleep while he was working because he did not get home until 2:15am! Ryan had a great time at the Game and it sure was a great game to be at. It was a great Saturday for all of us. I got to spend Saturday Morning at Starbucks meeting potential Junior League members. It is always great meeting potential members. We worked some more on the demolition, and then when Ryan headed to the game Ty and I decided to head over to Ghee and Poppy's. We had a wonderful evening and then it was time to head home for bed time. I think we all had a great weekend and we are ready for a fun and busy week.
