It's Hard To Find Good Help!

I caught you.........
Check out what Ty did the whole time we were working in the Concession Stand yesterday. What a mess my helper made. You must keep your eyes on Ty at all times because if you don't this is the mess you will find.
I think we are packed and ready for our big adventure. I will try and post while we are gone.

Monday Fun Day

Lindsay opened her house up this morning for a little Supper Club playgroup. It was so fun watching all the kids play together. Ty loves playing with Hudson, Keifer, Sadie, and baby Lily. I had a hard time getting a picture of them all because they were all over the place pulling toys out. Thanks for opening up your home for us to play this morning, Lindsay.
This week is crazy with trying to get organized and packed to leave town on Wednesday for San Diego! So, my posts may be short this week.
However after nap time Ty and I are heading to Westphalia to work in the concession stand for a volley ball game. Too much to do and so little time.

Weekend Review

I do not have that many pictures from this weekend, but I did get some when we dropped Ty off with his Aunt Shana. Ty did several firsts with out us over the weekend. Ty went to the Fort Worth Zoo and got to ride on a train and carousal with his cousins Callie and Caleb and then on Friday night Ty went to a football game to watch his cousin Justin play football. I heard Ty loved the band. That does not surprise me. Ty loves music.
Ty even stayed up until 10:30pm on Friday night because of the game! I was a little stressed when I heard about that, but I got over it. I need to learn to relax a little. I just like my schedule. I am already concerned about the schedule when we are in San Diego because of the 2 hour time change...... Suggestions!!!!
Overall we all had a nice weekend. Here is a picture of Ty with Caleb and Callie all loaded up in the car. Thank you so much Nana, Papa, Shana, and Sherri for loving on our sweet boy over the weekend!

We Made It Home

We had a great weekend in DFW. Ty was a good boy for his Nana and Papa over the weekend. The School Board Convention went well, and Ryan enjoyed our weekend together. I will post more tomorrow but I am worn out right now.
Have a great week!

Kisses

Ty loves giving kisses. He is giving Ghee a good-bye kiss, because we are headed to DFW tomorrow for the weekend. Ryan has a School Board Convention in Dallas. Ty gets to spend the weekend with his Nana and Papa while Ryan and I have our first baby free weekend. I know Ryan will be in meetings all day, but I think it will be great. I hope Ty has a great time, too.
Well, I am heading out the door to Book Club. Have a great weekend!

One More Week

Next Wednesday Tyler and I will be flying to San Diego with my Mom for a week.
My Moms family lives in the California area. This is Ty's first trip to California. Ty gets to see his Amma and his great Aunt Chris and Great Uncle Phil. My Moms Sister and Brother. Actually Ty's first time to meet them. I know we will have a great time. I can't wait to take Ty to the San Diego Zoo. Just thought I would post about our fun adventure.
These pictures were taken two years ago when I went with my Mom.

Drama

This morning started out great. We got up had some breakfast and then Ty played while I took a shower to get ready for Bible Study. I am very excited to be able to attend this Mom's Bible Study. I started last year with Ty and he would just sleep in my lap. Then Ty got on to his nap schedule and we had to stop going because the group was in the middle of nap time. Not any more now that we are at ONE nap! Sorry to digress.
As you know Ty loves to pull on everything and anything. So, Ty pulled up on our bed and pulled down a shirt that was a hanger. Not a problem until I hear Ty screaming. I run to him and his mouth is full of blood. Oh my gosh I start to panic. I get a wet paper towel and put it in his mouth and the towel is soaked. I am in full panic mode now. So, I run out of the house with Ty and take him to my Parents. They are parents they know what to do. On the way Ty's mouth stopped bleeding and he was saying Ghee the whole time. Praise the lord. My lesson from this is I need to learn to stay calm when faced with a crisis. I did call the nurse and she just said watch for infection but Ty had a tetanus shot in August so he was ok in that area. I just don't like bleeding especially when it is coming from Ty. This is the second busted lip in a week. We have a BIG boy on our hands. I think it is time to start preparing myself for all the bumps, cuts, and scratches.
Ryan told me I broke our son. He then asked if I got pictures. I was not thinking about the camera.
Anyway I did make it to Bible Study with out Ty. I was prepared to take him and put him in the Nursery with his other friends but when we were leaving my parents house Ty kept reaching for my Mom/Ghee. So, Ghee kept him this morning. That kind of made me sad. Ty is one loved boy. Now my precious boy is sleeping. I hope we get through the rest of our day blood free.

Teeth Teeth and MORE Teeth

I had to break out the cold teething ring today. Much better!

Ty saying his new favorite word. Ghee! My Mom always gets so excited when Ty says Ghee. We now have Daddy and Ghee. What about me? Ty's favorite person.

That is right. Ty is working on more teeth. These new top teeth coming in will make 14 teeth total. I am sure we will have 16 total teeth soon. Ty always cuts the top first and the bottom seem to follow.
Therefore we have a fussy boy who wants and needs everything in his mouth. It is always nice when this lovely stage passes.

Steele Family Picture Day

Boys will be boys
All of the boy Grandchildren. Justin, Josh, Jacob, Caleb, and Ty. You can't tell but I had to keep running to Ty because he was putting everything in his mouth. Even an acorn. What a mess!

Ty got in the hot tub with Papa and Daddy before the pictures.

Look at that face.
All of Nana and Papa's Grandchildren. What a cute bunch!

Yesterday we drove to Fort Worth to spend the day with Ryan's family. Linda/Nana is celebrating her 60th Birthday this month and she wanted family pictures for her Birthday. So, we had Steele family pictures made yesterday at a beautiful park. 18 of us total! Hopefully we got some great shots. The kids were great. After the pictures we had pizza and Ice cream. We had a wonderful afternoon. Ty was trooper all day long. Sorry the pictures are out of order and these are just with our camera. Enjoy!
Today is catch up day around our house. We are ready for a fun and buzy week!

Night Out

On Saturday night Ryan and I had a couples night out with our good friends Steve and Kassie. We had a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill in Round Rock. I forgot how much I love that place. Thank you Poppy and Ghee for watching Ty. We can't wait for October when we get to dinner again.

Go Dawgs

Mind Of His Own

I thought it would be nice to take Ty's picture next to our pumpkins outside. As you can see Ty did not want the same thing as I did. The leaves on the ground were more intriguing than those silly pumpkins.
Maybe I will try again a little later. We can't wait for October and our play date to the pumpkin Patch.

Up, Up

I love when ever I open the door to Ty's room and see him standing waiting for me to get him. Ty has known how to pull up in his bed for a while, but just this week he started doing it ALL the time. It has made nap time a little challenging but not too bad.
Ty gets very excited when he pushes himself up that he will start bouncing. Very cute. Ty is learning new things very fast these days. I am amazed at what all he has accomplished in two weeks.

Ryan just came home a few minutes ago and grabbed Ty to go run some errands. I was not invited. I guess they needed some boy time. Plus, Ryan has not seen Ty in two days. I just told them to be home in time for dinner and bedtime. I am no fun. Plus, I think Ryan is going to see my High School (Temple Wildcats) play football tonight.
We hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend!

A Tast Of Italy

That was our Supper Club theme for last night. Everything was Italian, even the wine and beer. I think that everything turned out wonderful. The salad, bread, Spinach Alfredo, and dessert turned out great. The chef that is part our supper club had seconds on the main dish. I took that as a good sign. A big sigh of relief. I have been working the past three days on trying to clean, decorate, and prepare a full course meal. I have to give a BIG thanks to my Mom for everything she did to help. Because, it is hard to do the things I mentioned and entertain Ty who by the way is getting in to everything these days. He is learning all sorts of new things. Our favorites are: Climbing a step ladder by himself, and getting in to a sitting position from the floor. Very busy week for Ty, too! You never know if he will be crawling, sitting ,or standing. It is so fun to watch him.
I attached some pictures of the final project. We had 8 total last night. We were missing two. It was still fun and we are ready for next month at Rob and Christina's house.

The appetizer and wine station.
The dining room table all ready for guests.
The place setting. We got this idea from a Pottery Barn Magazine. I did my research.
A picture of me with Lindsay. I wish I would have gotten more, but I was a little busy once the party started. Lindsay and DJ came over before the others. It was great getting to spend that extra time with them.
Today Ty and I took it easy. I was worn out from going and going this week. I loved being
able to bathe and put Ty to bed tonight. Ryan has a board meeting, so I am having a nice relaxing Thursday night.

Still Smiling

I put Ty to work helping me set our dining room table for Supper Club tonight. Ty helped me push all the chairs in.
Ty is preparing to have a slumber party and Ghee and Poppy's house tonight. I know Ty will have a great time. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Blessed

These pictures were taken right before breakfast. I am a blessed Mom to wake up to this precious face everyday.

I would write write more about about our days but I am so tired. Thank you for the super woman comments. I am far from it, but thanks. I just take on too much. I think I am learning that I can't do it all. I hope you are all having a great week!

Yes Please

I have my eye on this cute spider treat bag from Pottery Barn Kids. Ty's name will be monogrammed on it of course. PBK has free shipping on all Halloween items. Now all I need to do is convince Ryan. Maybe if I say please he will agree. I already have Ty's costume picked out, too! I think. We will leave that for a surprise. I love this time of year.
Well I must get back to cleaning the study. I decided I needed a blog break! I have my first PTO meeting tonight. I am a little nervous. I am sure it will be fine.
We are experiencing some cool weather today. I have had the windows open all day and I even worked in the yard. I am trying to make the house perfect for our Supper Club group on Wednesday night. I think I am trying to take on too much. I always do that. Have a great Monday.

Pirate Birthday Party

Ty really could have cared less about the candy from the pinata. I am sure that will change in a few years. As you can tell he wanted the bat.
Jack the Birthday boy getting ready to blow out his candles.
Ty's friend Keifer loved the cake. Ty was still to busy playing with the bat that he found next to the pinata to care about cake. That is a first!
Ty's friend Jack celebrated his 3rd Birthday Party today with a Pirate Themed swimming party. We swam had pizza, cake, and a pinata. Ty was to young to swing but he joined in on getting all the candy, mainly the bat that fell on the ground. I think we need to get Ty a bat. He did not want to part from it. It was great Sunday with our special friends.

TGIF

As you can see we are ready for the weekend. We just hope we stay dry. I guess that all depends on Hurricane Ike. The good news is we can use some rain. However, the best news of all was Ryan's Saturday class at A&M was cancelled due to the weather! WHOOP!!!!! We have not seen much of Ryan this week, especially Ty. He did get to talk to him on the phone this morning. Ty heard his voice and said Dada and Bye Bye. Ty's favorite words. What is really cute is every time Ty sees a picture of Ryan he points and says Dada. Precious.
Have a wonderful weekend. I hope to rest up for my marathon week that I have next week. Did I mention that with two meetings and recruiting all day Wednesday I am also planning and hosting our monthly Supper Club on Wednesday night! I am crazy! Thank you Southern Living for a recipe. I hope it is delicious. I will let you know.

Random Thoughts and Things

Tyler loves to be outside and he loves the dogs. Yesterday the back door was unlocked and guess who learned to open the door to let his friends in? That would Ty. We must keep doors locked at all time.
Ryan called me on Monday night and told me that I was chosen as Westphalia's PTO Secretary for this school year. I did not even know I was in the running for it. I have always wanted to be apart of the the PTO I just thought I would have a child in school when I took part in this organization. Our first meeting is Monday night.

The JLBC is still my main volunteer commitment. I will admit that being the Provisional Chair is really time consuming. Thank goodness for nap time so I can sit at the computer and get work done. Our first meeting of the year is Tuesday. I can't wait. PTO on Monday and Junior League on Tuesday. Call me All American Mom.

I had a Doctors appointment yesterday. I got to see Dr. Fothergill. He is the Doctor that delivered Ty. (NO I AM NOT PREGNANT) Just a yearly exam. Thanks Mom for watching Ty. As I was walking in to the Lobby I noticed one one my old cheerleaders that I coached. She walked over to me and all I could do was stare at her baby bump. I tried so hard to sound happy, but my heart was breaking in side for her. She is still in High School and is not prepared to raise a child. My thoughts are with this precious girl.

I have joined facebook to help find and reconnect with current and old friends. Last week I started finding a lot of my brother's friends and a lot found me. It has been a true blessing for me to reconnect with Justin's friends again. A lot of them have commented on Ty and the wonderful tribute I gave to Justin by giving Ty Justin's middle name. Some of the comments have brought tears to my eyes. I love that Justin is still touching lives. What wonderful memories. Thank you facebook.

Today, September 11th reminds me of how blessed and thankful I was to not be on the 2 American Airlines flights that crashed on that tragic morning. If you did not know I was a Flight Attendant for American Airlines based in New York 7 years ago. I was in LA getting ready to board a flight back to New York. I am also thankful that my parents called me the night before to see where I was because, It took several hours to get through on the phone that day.

Random thoughts and things from today...........

We Are Here. Just Hiding.

Where did Ty go?
There he is!

Just when I think things are starting to slow down they pick right back up. I will play catch up later so I can fill you all in!
