You better not Pout

Someone does not seem too excited about the upcoming Season. Our neighbor brought these over on Sunday for the kids, super cute.

Landry's Legacy

Last year, Ryan started working out at a local Crossfit gym (named Crossfit DSP). Crossfit DSP is having its second annual Wod-a-palooza on the weekend of December 8-9. As a way of giving back, they have chosen to donate money to Landry’s Legacy. If you want to read about the event, the website is www.wodapalooza.com.

I am still humbled to this day of the impact Landry's life has made on others. I was also blown away and brought to tears when I saw my sons name on a marquee. I still beam with bride when I see this and I also find myself making several trips past this a day. :) Thank goodness it is close to our house.

One of the Admins of the website had this to say about Landry on one of his posts: We think you will agree that Landry was a crossfitter and fighter at heart.

Thakful Page

Tyler's class has a "class" book. About once a month we get a different themed book to look as a family and discuss and write what we like. The title for this month is "what we are thankful for".  I just had to post Tyler's page. I am thankful for my baby sister. I adore our Big Brother. I think Georgia Kate looks pretty cute. :) Ty did tell me that above her was a picture of the sun. His page just made me smile, because I for sure thought it would say "my kitty". Our new kitty, Chief is still around. Tyler could carry her all day long if she or I would let him. ;)

A Week Of Thanksgiving

My Aunt is always the best hostess and always has cute wine charms. What a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Happiness. Me with my three beautiful and amazing Cousins, we missed you Lauren
GK had enough, sweet Amma just smiling.
Precious Moments. Tyler and Georgia Kate loved my cousins little girl, Abbie,
What a Thanksgiving week. I am kind of sad to see it go but I just keep thinking Christmas break is close behind. It is always nice to have a week where routine goes out the door, in some ways. I really tried hard to take a break from everything and just focus on my family and creating special memories.
Our week was filled with lots of family and I even had a really fun girls night last night. Tyler got to spend a couple of days in Fort Worth with Ryan's family and he had a great time playing with a lot of his cousins. It was very strange to just have Georgia Kate, but it was also fun to focus on her. Ryan still had to work Monday and Tuesday and Basketball games on Tuesday so we had a lot of girl time. However, she missed Tyler like crazy. She was so HAPPY to have him home, again.... as were we all.
On Thanksgiving day we headed to Austin to my Aunt and Uncles house and got to spend the day eating, laughing, and of course watching football. I will say they have the best view to watch a game, so I did not mind at all. I loved being around my cousins and Tyler and Georgia Kate loved playing with Abbie. The best part of the day was spending it with my Gramma. It has been many years since we have been able to celebrate with her, so Thanksgiving was extra special and it really has been so wonderful to have her close. Such a special Thanksgiving, it really was such a good day.
Friday it was time to start decorating our house, it is finally begining to look a lot like Christmas. Saturday we had family pictures taken by a amazing friend and photographer. It was a full hour of trying to make Georgia Kate sit, look at the camera, and smile... we tried everything. :) Ty of course was loving all the flashes and attention. I hope we got that our Christmas care worthy. I do love Christmas cards and can't wait to start getting them in the mail. Today was a down day as we gear up for School and routine. We had a great week, and this week and next week are busy... so I think a week off was good and might help us get through the following weeks, I hope.

Snuggles From Daddy

I took this on Saturday Morning, after Georgia Kate had not seen her Daddy for 2 days. Ryan had a lot of late nights last week, so both Ty and Georgia Kate were in need of some Daddy time. Ryan swooped her up as she went walking past him (full time walker) and she immediately laid her head down on him. Sweet moment with some early morning cuddles. I am so thankful for precious moments like this. Snuggles from Daddy makes everything better.

Mark Your Moment

This year we wanted to have a special Christmas tree at the Children's Hospital that marked the Junior League Project S.M.I.L.E. event. Therefore, starting at our first event in September all the kids that came down to our event got to make a special ornament, along with their family members that is now hanging on our "Mark the Moment" tree. A few of our members/volunteers made one as well. It is a 7 foot sweet and meaningful tree.
A local florist in town does all the decorating at both Hospitals in town, and this florist does so much for Junior League. Therefore we provided the tree and ornaments and they gave it some tender loving care and made it beautiful. I had such a wonderful time with Kristen, our Project S.M.I.L.E. Chair and she is also one of my Members at large on the board. We thought it would be very fast to hang and put up.... which it was but Precious Memories, the florist needed our help so we put bows on wreaths and hung them on all the patient doors to their room. It really was beautiful to see so many wreaths lining the patient floors. I know it will bring some much needed Christmas cheer to families this year.
The best part is I am now inspired to decorate our house. Ryan, actually took out all of our Christmas stuff today (it is all lined up in our living room waiting for me). I guess he knew I would be inspired, because he did it while I was gone. :)

Thanksgiving Feast

Ty's school had a Thanksgiving feast today. I always love seeing each year the fun creative stuff they do, and of course I always love his place mate. I guess they must have made the place mates after a certain lost kitty found our home, because Chief made the place mate. :) What are we supposed to do now... Ty really has been wanting a cat for a long time. GK loved the feast this year and I am glad that I bought myself a plate, because the last picture goes to show how much GK is going to love all the food on Thursday. I did not have one bite. And Ty only ate his roll, go figure.
It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. Ty has off the whole week, but Ryan's school is not out until Tuesday. All I know is I am thankful for some time off, for all of us. I guess that means it is time to pull out Christmas!

25 Years

Tuesday night was our last General Membership of the year... well, until January. 3 down!! Tuesday was a big night for our league. The Second Hand Rose celebrated 25 years of service in our community. What a huge accomplishment and honor. The Second Hand Rose is a JLBC fundraiser and community project that is operated by our league. We celebrated the night with a champagne toast and cake. Kristen and Ashley are in charge of all the food and drinks for the evening, and they always go above and beyond. So thankful for them and I love working with them, they always have the best attitude and smile in everything they do.
The year is flying by and I was told that would happen by several past presidents, and I think my smile gets a little bigger and the end of every meeting and event.

Uh Oh

Well, this cute little lost kitty has been hanging around our house of and on since Sunday afternoon. Tyler is so excited and now it looks like GK is getting sucked in, she even says Kikky. :) Today was the first day that Chief, that is that name Ty gave it has been real cuddly and always around.
Well, this sucker bought some Kitty food this morning. I am not sure what will happen with Chief, because Cooper is not a fan. I am ok with a outdoors cat, but I still want to take Chief to the Vet for a check up, as Ty tells me we need to do that. Not even sure if Chief is a Chief or Chiefette... are we adding a kitty to our crew? :)

Set Up

Saturday was a huge success and really a lot of fun. I am so thankful, that I can say that. Even though the days leading up to it and the day of with set up... yes there were hectic times and moments but we know how to laugh and just have fun.
I have even had my bunch their for a while during set up, Ty loved it because a little girl from his class was there. He was so excited to see her. Junior League has become a family affair this year, at times. So thankful for thier support.
Of course I am not able to download any pictures right now, so this is what you get. I will try to update soon and share more, but of course our League's General Membership meeting is tomorrow evening. The best part is it's the last GMM of this year, WOW! The league has flown. I can tell you that I am ready for a little down time, of course we still have events but it is fun and light events.

Project Prom and Beyond

I love our JLBC Volunteers. Thank you!

Nicole, Nikki, and Megan.

Kids in the Kitchen Co- Chairs with local Chef. Thank you Jen and Kate.

Awesome JL Husbands that have trucks and cute kids. :) Thank you!!
Last Saturday JLBC hosted our first Project Prom and Beyond event. Project Prom is one of our Community Projects where we work with Counselors or CIS Directors to give us names of 4 or more Senior girls that because of financial or personal needs may be able to go to prom. Because of generous donations we able to provide these young women with a dress of their choice, shoes, jewelry, and a gift certificate for hair. I love this project. This year we decided to reach the girls earlier as to be able to form a relationship with them. We were very fortunate to have a local gym hear about our project. T3 Titan Total Fitness sponsored our fall event and even let use his his facilities. The Owner, Ike Shaw and his story of how he got to where he is today is amazing. The girls loved him. The morning was filled with a mini boot camp, of course I did it with them! We also included our amazing Kids In The Kitchen program and had a chef come and give tips and cook a great lunch for the girls and their guests. Such an amazing day.
We ended it with a local motivational speaker who was awesome and I found myself in tears and had goose bumps several times. I realized that all the time that I spend away from my family is because I have a deep love for others in need and JLBC. Moments like last Saturday make it all worth it. To top off our fall event T3 gave every young women there a lifetime membership to work out there, I have heard that three of the girls that attended Saturday have been there every day since Monday. That puts a smile on my face.We are unable to take pictures but I met 11 amazing teens last Saturday that I can't wait to watch grow this year. Those are just the ones that came Saturday, we will have several more closer to Prom. We really are doing the most good! Thank you JLBC, Volunteers.

50 Days of School

Last Thursday Ty's class celebrated the 50 days they have been with school. They got to dress up 50's style and they had a fun sock hop with games, hot dogs, and ice cream floats. Such a fun treat. Tyler had a blast.

Sweet Memories

Moments

There are certain moments that I always want to remember and hold on to and this is one of them. There relationship is simply sweet and fun to watch. They both light up when they are together and love giving kisses and hugs.
We are two days from our huge Junior League event. As I told someone this morning, I think yesterday was the calm before the storm. I was up at all hours of the night writing stuff down. I found myself so stressed this morning. I spent all morning in the care running here and there... with GK who was so good, I kept telling her she a is a junior leaguer in training. :)
Ryan sent me an encouraging text and then he called as I was a about to lug a huge toy basket to the florist to get wrapped, all while trying to push GK. And the first thing he said to me was have fun! This is fun. He is right, I love doing this for our league. Therefore, that is my motto until the very end. I know it will be great and the co-chairs for this event our amazing and so is their committee. It has been a joy to work with them. So thankful for JLBC!

On Air

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to go on air at one of our local radio stations, 105.5 to support the   Junior League and our In League Fundraiser, Cowboys and Caviar. I believe the best part was having Brian Gown join us that morning and perform a song live on air. I became a fan and can't wait until Saturday. I am so thankful for all the amazing and fun opportunities that JLBC has provided me with this year.

Halloween

A week later and I am finally getting around to posting about Halloween with our Firefighter and Dalmatian. Georgia Kate was finally on the mend but still did not get the greatest pictures with her. We started all the fun that Halloween brings early with a fall festival with Amma (My Grandma). My sweet, Amma just moved here from San Diego. She is now in a Assisted Living home here in Temple, and having Ty and Georgia come and have some fun with her in their costumes made her day! It is so special having Amma here and I love taking the kids to visit her, if only for a bit. We all went Saturday and then I took GK this morning. She lights up when ever we are all around her.
After painting pumpkins and having tasty snacks it was time to head home to eat Pumpkin Pizza and hit our neighborhood with Ty's friends, Keifer and Lily. Poor GK and Weston did not get any pictures.... they were stroller buddies. It was such a wonderful evening and we loved sharing it with friends. What a fun day.

Fall Fun

Well, here is the first peak of Tyler and Georgia Kate in their Halloween costumes. We decided that every Firefighter needs a Dalmatian! Of course these pictures were taken at two Fall Festivals that we attended the day before GK got sick, so no wonder she was not a happy camper in any of the pictures I got of her. I will post more from Halloween, but of course she was still getting over everything. I might just have to put them in their costume again! :)
Ryan's school always hosts a fun fall carnival that Tyler loves, and GK will love it next year, I am sure. After that I took the kids to another Fall party with lots of friends and sweet kids. Tyler really loves this time of year as well, and he loves dressing up. So thankful for all of the wonderful friends in our life that we get share in all that fall has to offer.
Well, this is going to be one of the most stressful weeks, as JLBC is gearing up for our huge In League  Fundraiser!! So I may be a little absent this week. There is just so much pressure that goes in to this event, but of course we have amazing members and Committee Chairs that do great work. It is really about team work. At the end of it all we just want a successful event that raises lots of money for our league. Yikes!! ;)

That's A Wrap

1,2,3 Go Cardnials

Ryan with Tyler and Cade. Cade's Dad helped Coach as well.

Yesterday was Ty's last Soccer game of the season. We have had a great season but a little break is always nice. I really enjoy watching all the growth of the players and I hope we will have a lot of our same teammates in the Spring. Tuesday evening is our Soccer Party and of course, Trophy night!! Of course I have my monthly board meeting, so I will have to miss the big presentation... I hate that.
Poppy came to watch Tyler. The weather was a little windy and started out really overcast, so we decided to have Ghee keep GK.... trying to protect those precious ears. Although today she has had another runny nose. Tis the season, I think she is teething as well. We all love when we have Ghee and Poppy come to games. Way to go Cardinals on a great season! So proud of Tyler, our very Cardinal. Good game to the greatest coach around, as well. We love you!

Pumpkin Patch

Last Friday Ty's class got to visit a Pumpkin Patch that is walking distance from their school. It actually was fairly cold out. I pushed GK in her stroller and she enjoyed her first time to the pumpkin patch.
Ty was not in the best mood, and did not feel like being a good listener that day as well, so I had a really hard time with him. Actually, that day made me question if I should go on any more field trips with him... I hate that but he really was just awful and then threw a huge melt down drag out fit in front of the majority of his school. It was a horrible Mom moment, and I broke down later in the car. But, I guess we have our moments and days. I truly love being able to go with Ty and his class and GK really loves it. She adores all the sweet girls in Ty's class and they all adore her as well, they all want to carry the baby. So sweet.
We are really having a wonderful Fall and can't wait for all that November holds.
