Water Boy!

We hit the pool again today so we could try out Ty's new float. It has a canopy but we we did not blow that part up yet. It also plays music. Ty had the best time in the pool today. He is getting more and more comfortable. That is great news considering we will start swim lessons next week. Ryan is umpiring tonight so Ghee and Poppy came with us to the pool. I love having a community pool that we can use any time we want. The best part is we have the pool to ourselves the majority of the time. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Right now.................

I am planning a Weekend Beachfront Girls trip to Galveston with 3 wonderful women that I am lucky to call my friends. We started talking about it yesterday and we finally decided on a weekend (June 20) which is hard to do with the busy summer schedule we all have. I am one giddy girl today! I can't wait for some fun in the sun with my girls! Thank you Ryan for saying yes!

Three things Ty loves to do!

Shopping
Playing in the pool
Taking walks in his stroller

Ty got to do all three of these things today, so he was one happy camper!

Catch up day

Can I tell you how much I love blogging. It is one of my favorite things to do. That is one of the first things that I do when I put Ty down for his naps. I have found blogging to be very therapeutic for me. It helps me get in touch with my creative side. Plus I know that I have family and friends that check everyday to see what is going so I like to be up to date!
However, today I realized that I have a dirty house (dog hair is killing me. I would get rid of the dogs if I didn't love them as much as I do) emails, Junior league work, and college sorority recommendations to write. I did finish those. I will put in the mail later this afternoon. So, today I decided to do a few chores and items that are on my to do list before I blog! We will see how long that lasts. I completed most of my tasks. I wish I could vacuum while Ty napped, but it does not work to well!
Thanks Ghee for sitting at the house today while Ty napped so I could go to the dentist. Well, I still have some time before Ty wakes up! I think I will see what else I can accomplish! I think I will dust our bedroom. That might be a good thing to do!

Kraft Mac N Cheese!

Ty has found a new favorite. Macaroni and Cheese. He really loves trying to put a whole bunch in his mouth at one time. So far Ty loves wheat crackers, any kind of fruit (bananas are his favorite) and of course cheese. He had a few bites of a tortilla the other day and liked that as well. It is so hard trying different food that I think he would or could eat. I want him to try new things, but I feel he eats the same thing over and over again. Any suggestions on foods I could try with him? At least he his feeding himself. I still spoon feed Ty a few things, but I think he likes to try and do it himself. What a boy!
Happy Wednesday! Ryan has no late nights except for Friday so that has been one of the best things about this week.

Seville (Sevi) Tate Bohn

I went to Austin this morning to see Sevi, Sara, and Bart. Sevi is so tiny and beautiful. I am so thankfull that we made it to Austin to see them. Sara and Sevi are both doing well. It felt strange to hold a baby that tiny. I already miss her. I will be going to Austin in a few weeks for the whole day to help Sara around the house and with Seville.
Tyler smiled the whole time we were at the hospital. I think he is already in love her! I know I am.
We also had to say good-bye to Amma today. We had a wonderful visit with her and we will miss her very much. Hopefully we will get to take Ty to San Diego in October to visit.
Enjoy looking at pictures of my beautiful niece ( Sara and I call ourselves sisters) Seville Tate!

Memorial Day and 10 Months Old!

Happy 10 months Tyler Justin! We love you so very much. You always know how to bring a smile to our face. The past 10 months have been so wonderful and full of many new things. Thank you for being our silly little monkey!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day cook out with Ghee, Poppy and Amma. Thank you Ryan for grilling. Ty was all decked out in his USA gear!

The best news today! Seville Tate Bohn arrived a little after 6pm this evening. She weighs 6 pounds 6 ounces. Mommy and Baby are doing great. The name is very unique but that is Sara for you. They are going to call her Sevi (not sure on the spelling). I am heading to Austin tomorrow to meet Seville. I love her already and I can't wait to see her. What a wonderful blessing. I cried when I got the news this evening.

First Swim of the Season

We loaded Ty up yesterday afternoon and took him to the pool! It took him a while to get used to it, and he was really mad when Daddy dunked him under the water. After a while he started splashing the water and having a great time. Ghee and Poppy came to watch Ty in the water, too. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to take him back. Plus yesterday was a trial run for Ty's aqua baby class that starts next Monday.Guests are welcome, so anytime you want to come and swim with us please let us know!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day. We are having a family cook out later this afternoon.

She's on her way!

I got the call that I have been waiting for since I found out my my best friend Sara is pregnant with her first baby girl! Well, I got the induce date call. Sara will go in Sunday night at 7pm to be induced and hopefully welcome baby G ( baby girl) in to the world on Monday! I am very excited for Sara and Bart and of course the proud first time Grandparents. Sara and I have been friends since preschool, therefore I can't wait to share in this special time with her.

The thing I am looking forward to the most is knowing baby G's name! I will be heading to Austin on Tuesday to see that precious little girl. I already have so much love for her.

We love you Sara and Bart and can't wait to meet your precious baby G! I thought that meant her name started with a G. Well, I think I am wrong. At least that is what Sara told me:)

I will keep you posted and send pictures when I get them.

Tyler is SO good looking!

How cute is Tyler? So cute!

It is sporty Friday at the Steele house. We are so ready for a nice long weekend. While we are home today Daddy is having fun at Six Flags with all of his Middle School kids. Another late night. I know Ty is ready to see his Daddy again. Ty has not seen Ryan since Tuesday night. I think this is the last week that Ryan will be gone at night for a while. Thank goodness.
We have a fun weekend. Ryan will be umpiring tomorrow until noon. Ty gets to attend his second birthday party for his friend Reese. Reese is celebrating her first birthday tomorrow afternoon. I am sure we will have a great time. This is the summer for birthday parties. I love how our life has changed from attending weddings all the time to birthday parties. We have two more parties so far to attend this Summer. We are excited about your party Miss Kendall Rose. The best part is Ty gets to have his very own birthday party in July! I have already started planning. We have the theme. I can't tell you, and NO it is not baseball! On Sunday night Ryan and I get to go to a party. My friend June is having a Memorial Day bash at her house. It should be a fun night out. A date night is always fun and needed.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

The Past Two Days!

What a great week we have had so far......................... Nana came to visit on Tuesday. She even spent the night with us. Ty had a great afternoon with his Nana and Ghee. You can tell by the look on Ty's face. Nana and Ghee kept feeding him white cheddar puffs. I now have a child that is addicted to cheddar puffs! Mommy is going to put a stop to that.
The next best thing that happened on Tuesday is Daddy took a half day at work so he could come home early! Ty was so excited to see Daddy. For those of you who know Ryan he never takes off or comes home early from work. Thank you Ryan. We loved having you home. Ryan even grilled burgers for the whole family. I hated to miss that.
Tuesday night was the Prospective Member Meeting. We had a wonderful time. Christina and I were very pleased at how well it went, and it looks like we are going to have a nice size Fall class. We still have one more to go. I have found my new favorite thing to talk about and share with others. I love my new position and telling people how great JLBC is and what all it has done for me. We talked for a long time. Even after the meeting a group of girls stayed around to talk. I loved how pretty the food table looked!
On Wednesday Tyler and I went to Rockwall with my parents and Gramma to visit my other Grandmother. Ma had been in the hospital last week so we went to go and check on her and see how she was doing. Ma looked great and loved holding Ty. I got to see two of my Aunts and some of my cousins. Of course they are all thrilled that my Dad is back in Texas! We had a great time even though Ty was way off his schedule. That was a little tough, but he did OK.
Ty with two of this Great-Grandmothers. I love this picture. This will be a very special picture to have.

Today we are trying to get back on track and enjoy being home! Ryan is umpiring tonight, so it will be another late night for him. Last night Ryan's 8th grade students had their graduation. I can still remember my 8th grade graduation from Travis Middle School. I still know what I wore, too! I am getting so old. School is almost out. It's a shame that Superindents still have to work during the summer.

Morning Buzz

Me, Stacie, and ChristinaWhat a wonderful morning segment. Thank goodness for DVR I was able to come home and watch it. I think we did a great showing off the Second Hand Rose and getting the word out about membership. The Second Hand Rose is the Junior league retail consignment store that is run off of donations from JL Members and Community Members. It is a wonderful place that has so much to offer. I just got Ty a polo shirt there for $5.00 and denim shorts for $2.00! A $7.00 outfit! You can't beat that. They really do have some cute clothes. I found two shirts that I might purchase tonight when I am there for our Prospective Member Meeting.
Nana should be here around lunch. We are ready for her visit. My house is all clean!

Tyler and his new car seat!

Tyler Finally got a big boy car seat! Let me tell you it took some time to decide on a new car seat. I started doing a lot of research, checking consumer reports, and asking other Mom's who have made this type of purchase.
I was all set on the Britax because they got all the highest marks. However it was out of our budget. I tried really hard to change Ryan's mind. I then heard from two of my friends that they had an Evenflo. I immediately checked the consumer reports on Evenflo car seats and they were ranked right up there as the safest car seats next to the Britax only less expensive! Sold........
Tyler is now sitting in a Evenflo Triumph Advanced Premier car seat.
WOW! I never knew their were so many car seats out there. Ty looks like such a big boy in his new seat. He still fits in the infant one, but we decided now would be the best time to make a change.

Indiana Jones

Ryan is making me watch Indiana Jones tonight, so this is all you get! I am typing this on his laptop. He gets mad every time I get up.

I am trying to like it! Better go before he gets on to me for not watching the movie!

Superintendent In Training

Tyler got to go see Daddy at work today and have lunch with him. We picked up some Chick Fil A on the way out of town, Tyler loved eating the french fries! I decided that it would be a good idea to take Tyler to Westphalia this afternoon since Ryan has not seen him since Wednesday and is going to be umpiring tonight. Tyler was wearing his blue and white polo shirt in honor of Westphalia. Amma also came with us. My Gramma has not seen the new school complete, so she wanted to come take a peak at how wonderful the school looks. We had a wonderful visit. I loved seeing Ryan's office and all the pictures he has of Ty. I think Ryan is one proud Daddy!
Later this afternoon I will be meeting with Pam and Christina at the Second Hand Rose to decorate and set up for the meeting on Tuesday. Tyler will get to play with Keifer. My parents left today for Athens Texas. They have some friends that have a lake house there. We are very excited about getting to spend a lot of time with Amma while they are gone. Tyler is starting to get use to her. Today was the first time he reached for her. It takes some time the older they get to warm up to people.
Today is a day of remembrance for me. Today is Justin's Birthday. Justin would have been 34 today. It has hard to believe he has been gone for such a long time. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of my big brother. As I am typing this I have tears streaming down my face. I miss him so much and wish that he was still here with us. However, I know that he is looking down on us daily and smiling at his precious namesake, Tyler Justin. I wept when I found out I was pregnant with a boy, because he would get to carry on my brothers name. I can not think of a better tribute! I love you Justin, you continue to inspire me daily.

Busy Day!

What a wild Thursday. I left the house around 9:30am to attend a mini Provisional training meeting. Ty takes his nap at 9:00am so Ghee came and watched him while I was gone. I got home at at 10:45 only enough time to give Ty and big hug and then out the door for a lunch/meeting for Junior League with Stacie, Pam, Christina, and Audrey the new President for JLBC. I am very excited to be working with her. We discussed our Morning Show segment that we will be appearing on next Tuesday morning. Afterwards I walked over to the Second Hand Rose with Christina, so we could plan our new member meeting that will be held there next Tuesday night. I got home just in time to walk Ty home and get him down for a nap. All I can say is I am thankful for nap time because I was able to work up a Agenda for next Tuesday and get it sent out! I am doing a lot of work on the computer these days.
After nap time we went to Target with Ghee and Amma. That is officially my favorite place. I feel like I am there everyday. We also got to have a nice dinner with Ghee, Poppy, and Amma before it was time to head home for a bath and bed time. Ryan has a School Board meeting tonight. He also had a training last night and will be umpiring tomorrow night. Therefore, we have not seen much of Ryan. We miss you! Next week is another crazy week, but school is almost out!!!!
Once again I am so blessed to have my parents here. Especially with Ryan's hectic schedule and with him starting his Doctorate next month, he is going to be gone a lot more. Thank you Mom and Dad for being a wonderful support system for me and helping me out during the day. We appreciate all you do! Ty loves siting in his new car seat that Ghee and Poppy have in their car!

Westphalia Storm Damage Pictures

This 96 foot Internet tower is located right behind Ryan's school. As you can see it split in half. Just like our house it split away from the school. Another huge Blessing! The good news is WISD still has their Internet service. I believe the rest of the community is with out service. I think I heard that right?

Crazy Texas Weather

We had another bad storm come through the area very early this morning and this time it up rooted the big tree in the front of our house. We are very thankful that it collapsed in the opposite direction of our house, because if it went the other way it would have landed on Ryan's truck. I am sad because that was the tree that we used for Ty's swing. I guess we will have to find another big tree.
Ryan also mentioned that Westphalia ISD had some damage, so I am waiting for him to send me some pictures. My Mom saw pictures on the news this morning, but I was busy getting Ty ready for a nap. Salado was hit by a tornado and had a lot of damage. My good friend Stacie lives in Salado and I spoke with her today. Thank goodness everything close to her and her husbands restaurant were safe.
Now I must contact a tree service and see about getting rid of our tree. Hopefully we will be storm clear for a while.
