Sea World

After I came back to San Diego from San Francisco last Sunday we decided to add on a couple of days so I could enjoy some fun family time with my Mom's Family. I truly loved all the special family time last week.
Tyler and Georgia Kate already made a trip to the World Famous San Diego Zoo while I was in SFO, so we decided to tackle Sea World. This was Tyler's first rip to Sea World and I think he liked it. He loved all the shows only if we could sit in the Splash Zones... of course. :) Therefore, I sat/got wet with Tyler while my Mom, Auntie C, and GK sat up in the safe zone. I was so thankful for my Mom and Aunt... they looked after GK, so I could experience everything with Tyler.  We loved all the shows and seeing all the animals, and of course Tyler had to explore everything so that included going on a few fun rides. I wish I got more pictures but sometimes I did not have enough hands. We loved our day at Sea World and I think we will try again, but next time with our Daddy in tow.

Yummy

Last night was a big night at our house and a first for Georgia Kate. OATMEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As soon as brought the bowl and spoon in to the living room GK immediately reached out and held on to the bowl. I took that as a good sign, and also a sign that she was ready for some real food. I think she liked because the proof was all over face. The only challenge was keeping her from grabbing the spoon and trying to feed herself as you can see sometimes I failed and let her take the spoon and do it herself. What can say, the girl has a strong grip. :)
Well, round one was a success and I can't wait to see what we decide to try next. I adore this precious food face. I guess this also means it is time to pull out the high chair.... seriously, you can stop growing up so fast Miss Georgia Kate, it wont hurt my feelings. ;)

What We Do Best

We love Soccer Saturday's! We actually had to miss two games while we were gone last week so it felt good to see Tyler back in action on the Soccer Field, and he even scored a goal. He actually made several attempts today so we were thrilled when one made it in! Tyler loves when he scores a goal. His whole face lights up and it is absolutely priceless. Tyler had a load audience with me, Georgia Kate, Ghee, and Poppy. Tyler also has a pretty amazing Coach who we adore as well. Way to go, Ty! We are so proud of you.

Annual Conference

Me, Amber and Pam with Delly Beekman, AJLI President.
Me (Iincoming President), Pam (Ooutgoing President), Amber (President Elect)
Had to laugh when I saw this.
 China Town.

Beautiful. We walked across the Golden Gate Bridge and it was amazing. Thank you Pam and Amber!
Last week I had the amazing opportunity to attend The Association of Junior Leagues International Annual Conference in San Francisco. Every time I attend on of these conferences I am amazed at the wonderful training and opportunities that I have received during my service with the Junior League of Bell County. I have had a tremendous amount of personal growth during the past few years because of my experiences in league and I am beyond thankful for every opportunity that has been provided to me through the the JLBC. Next year is going to be a huge challenge and tremendous time commitment, but I am so ready to give back to this amazing league that has done so much for me and my family.
WOW! San Francisco is absolutely beautiful and we had perfect weather during the entire trip. We decided to arrive a day before the conference started so we could have some extra time to explore all that the city has to offer. I am still amazed at how much we were able to see and do... we were women on a mission. :) Thank you Pam and Amber for being amazing Leaders. I had a blast, or I think I should say we had a blast!
I landed in San Diego with a notebook full and a head swimming with ideas. Only a few weeks until the passing of the gavel!!!! Ready or not I am about to be President of the Junior League of Bell County. I have a huge smile on my face while typing this and I hope that smile is still there at this time next year!! :)
This week I have spent the majority of my afternoons planning for next year and I can't wait to share my theme and logo with you all! Thank you, Ryan. I love you and your amazing talent and support. Oh, and thank you Jen for saying yes!! You will make my year great. :)

6 Months

How can it be that Georgia Kate is already 6 months old (on April 22). We sure are having the time of our life with this precious girl. I am beyond thankful to have Georgia Kate with us and all the joy that she has restored in our home and heart.
GK has two teeth (bottom), and her hair is growing so much that I can finally put just a bow in her hair with out a head band. I have also heard her say Dada a couple of times.... of course never in front of her Daddy. :) I stalked up on Solids this Morning at the Grocery Store so stay tuned to see how that goes. GK's 6 month apt is next week so I will have her stats at that time. Days our going fast! I could go on and on about our precious girl, because she is just wonderful and I adore everything about her.
I love you Georgia Kathryn. Thank you for being my daughter.

San Diego

My sweet babies with some of their favorite people and Dogs. ;)  Tyler with Sam and Georgia Kate with Madison.
Tyler on a special walk with Auntie C, Madison, Uncle Phil, and Jill. Tyler loved going where ever Madison went. I heard they were recreating the scene from Titanic.
Tyler and GK with Sophia, Madison and Aaron
Last Tuesday me, Tyler, and Georgia Kate boarded a Airplane to San Diego with my Mom. This was GK's first plane ride and she did awesome. Actually, they both were perfect coming and going. Ghee was such a huge help and Ty loved sitting next to the window and her.... thanks Mom for taking the middle seat. :)
My Mom's family lives in San Diego and I was schedule to be in San Francisco for Junior League training, so we decided to make a whole week of it. It was great because Gk had never met any of her California family members, and I think it is safe to say she stole the show and everyone loved loving on. Both Tyler and Georgia Kate received tons of attention. It was so fun to watch both of them light up around their Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
All of the above pictures were taken by my Cousin, Jill while I was in San Francisco ( Wednesday-Sunday). Thank you, Jill for loving on my babies while I was gone and taking so many precious pictures. Tyler is still talking about Madison and wants her to come to our house soon. :) I loved being able to see their pictures while I was away.
I think we are all suffering from a little jet lag today, because I can barely keep my eyes open while posting this. Maybe I should actually nap while Georgia Kate is napping this afternoon. ;) more pictures and posts coming soon when I can stay awake!

Home Sweet Home

The Steele Family have become expert travelers this past week. Well, at least 3 of us did because we had to leave Daddy at home. We headed on a airplane to San Diego last Tuesday and made it home today. I made a extra stop along the way which made for a week full of many precious memories.
It looks like once again I get to play catch up. I can't wait to share about a lot of fun stories and of course pictures. First up, unpacking!

Soccer Saturday

Group shot. We were missing two players.

Soccer Sister.

We had Team Pictures and a Game this Morning. Our favorite type of Saturday these days. Tyler scored a goal so he of course was thrilled. We are still enjoying Soccer and Ty is having a great time so that is all that matters.

After Soccer we had some downtime at home while Ryan worked in the yard and then later in the afternoon after GK's nap we went and toured some homes on the Parade of Homes Tour. The first and most important stop was at Poppy's House. We love a Jim Vaughn Home. Ryan and I were actually able to tour two more Homes so that was nice. Thank you Ghee and Poppy for keeping the kids for a little bit, I hope they brought in some good business. Ryan and I enjoy looking at homes and taking notes for future home ideas, we have big dreams! ;)

What a fun family Saturday.

Just A Swinging

We put Georgia Kate in the Swing that is in our backyard the other day and she really seemed to like. Then again who would not love having a Big Brother around to help push you.
However, I am not sure how I feel about her being big enough to do this already. :) It looks like we will have plenty of more swing time in our future.

Landry's Sidewalk

A sweet couple that has a son on the row behind Landry brought this beautiful potted plant over on Friday for Landry, and it looks so beautiful. Such a precious gift. Water dripped so that is what is on his headstone.
Landry's Little Sister. I adore this.

Sweet, Sister surveying the work. :)

Big Brother worked so hard on Landry's sidewalk. He truly was a big help.

Over the Easter Weekend we broke ground on a sidewalk by Landry's Grave. I refer to it as Landry's sidewalk. My Dad mentioned doing this a while back so both of my parents went and talked the Head of the Cemetery and they gave my parents permission to add a sidewalk and I really think it is going to make a huge difference.

My Dad, Ryan, John (he works for my Dad) and of course Tyler worked hard on Friday and Saturday getting it all dug up and marked. We are now waiting for them to pour the concrete. I am so excited about this and I hope that this will help with the up keep in the Baby Land area. I am still amazed by the number of babies that have been buried there this year. It is just heartbreaking every time I see a new plot.

I am so thankful to Ryan and my Dad for all of their hard work and determination this past weekend. It truly was a labor of love and that touches my heart. Thank you for loving Landry and making something so meaningful in his memory.

Georgia Kate spent some time there as well and this was the first time that I got her out of the car. She goes with me a lot when I go to check on his site, but I usually leave her in the car with the car running.... of course. :) I can't wait to tell Georgia Kate all about her amazing Big Brother, Landry. I still see a lot of him in her, and I love every little glimpse. I also love how much Tyler wanted to help, too. Landry has made such a huge impact in our lives and I am so thankful that he is apart of our family.

Landry's sidewalk will always hold special memories for me because it was built with so much love, pride, sweat, and tears.
