Spirit Night

Another reason why I love Chick Fil A!! The CFA in Killeen hosted a Spirit Night for JLBC last night, and yes I drove there to pick up dinner for us before tball practice... a perfect excuse and reason to pick up dinner. The Temple CFA is hosting one for us next month, so I already have my meal planed for April 24.

Bloomin' Buttons

I can't believe that after I finish this post there will only be ONE Project S.M.I.L.E. left for this year. It is strange, because I am so ready for this year to end but then part me is getting really sentimental and weepy about the end of this league year. I am sure that is normal. ;)
Last night the theme was Bloomin' Buttons. I think it might have been one of my favorites of the year. I mean who does not love planting pretty flowers, and getting your hands really dirty. After the children were done planting they made cute little crafts and sticks, to stick in their pot. It was the messiest by far, but so much fun and we had a full house.
Spring was in full bloom last night at the McLane Children's Hospital. So thankful to be apart of this amazing event, and now I am ready to bring some spring blooms to our house.

Holden Uganda

Landry was blessed with his 2nd Holden Uganda Well. Back in December, Ryan's gym, Crossfit DSP hosted its 2nd annual Wod-a-palooza. As a way of giving back they chose to donate money to Landry's Legacy.
We, along with Crossfit felt that Holden Uganda would be the perfect fit for Landry's amazing donation that was able to fund a Well. This Well is providing safe and clean water to about 2000 people. Amazing! This is the most amazing gift, and I am left speechless and humbled at the sight of these pictures. The verse below is the verse sketched on Landry's Well.

Isaiah 58:11-

The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

Adventures With Teddy

We have had a wonderful week with Tyler's class teddy. He is back in his special backpack and ready to join all of his friends at school tomorrow. These are a few extra pictures of Teddy with Tyler and their fun Spring Break adventure.
Last Sunday afternoon he enjoyed watching Tyler be the Bat Boy for Ryan's Softball team. Yesterday Poppy came over and we did a lot of spring cleaning in our backyard. I think the best part of Spring Break with Teddy is Ty got to stay up later than normal and watch a lot of fun family movies. I think Teddy's favorite, was Wreck It Ralph.
Such a wonderful week, but now it time to to prepare for the week ahead, and having to wake up and get out of the house early.... yikes! ;)

Uh- Oh

It looks like someone has found a new best friend. I hate to break it to her, but Teddy has to go back to School on Monday. Such sweet friends.

Zoo Day

On Tuesday Morning we went to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco with the Erskine Family. Tyler had a blast with Sawyer and Graves, and Georgia Kate and Asher kept us running after them. ;) For some reason our area had a later Spring Break than most districts around us, like Waco so we practically had the whole zoo to ourselves. This was GK's first time to the Cameron Park Zoo and she really loved all the animals and making her famous animal sounds at them. Of course, we could not forget the class bear on our fun family outing. We have had a wonderful week as a family, and it has been nice to be able to step away from things for bit and just be together as a family. It was a fast week and we are back to our routine on Monday, but as always.... the break is nice but sometimes it feels good to get back in to the routine of things.

First "friend" sleepover. Sawyer, Tyler, and Graves have had so much fun. The zoo yesterday and now a sleepover, we are loving Spring Break. Time for movie, popcorn, and candy. We have all the essentials covered for a fun sleepover.

Sunshine and Joy

Spring like weather and fun parks look so good on this adventurous fun loving little girl. Absolute joy.

Repeat

You might see a lot of park and especially slide pictures this week, because the weather has been amazing and what else do you do during Spring Break?!?! And slide races are the best and we really love having a whole park to ourselves.

Kids In The Kitchen

Saturday was not only a big day for Landry's Legacy, it was also a big day for JLBC and our Kids In The Kitchen Community Project. The project is a national Junior League initiative. We help to promote child health and wellness by empowering children and youth to make healthy lifestyle choices, therefore preventing obesity and its associated heath risks. The kids and their families were able to make healthy snacks and there were tons of fun activities (the bounce houses were the biggest hit) for kids and their families. We had so many amazing volunteers giving of their time which I am so thankful for. This league year is officially begining to wrap up which is hard to believe. What a tough and humbling experience this year has been for me. I am so proud of JLBC and all we do in our community.

Just A Sliding

Georgia Kate has developed a slight obsession with slides, and she went down several.... over, over, and over again today. She lights up every time she goes down and claps for herself at the end. :)  Please excuse the mess on her shirt, but that is how we roll some days. Gotta love a nice Spring day at the park and Spring Break. We get Daddy and Tyler at home with us all week, we are lucky girls.

Landry's Legacy

So proud of our biggest. He participated in the 1 mile fun run and also received a very special honor.

Thank you, Crossfit DSP for all your support. Ryan ran and completed his first 10k yesterday, as well. So proud of you Ryan.

Tyler has his class bear this  week for Spring Break so he joined us at  the race. Tyler with two of his classmates, Kaitlyn and Lilly.

My sweet Amma, was so thrilled to have a one of Landry's shirt. We had a special family dinner on Friday and were so thankful to have my sweet, Amma with us.

Yesterday was the 3rd annual Landry Legacy 10k, 5K, and Kids fun run/walk. 3 years ago we decided to form a team with a local race in town, the St. Patrick's Day run benefiting the McLane Children's Hospital Scott & White. The Junior League started working with this race in the Spring of 2010, when I was pregnant with Landry, and the league has now formed a partnership with them. Therefore, in 2011 I was encouraged to form a team in honor and memory Landry. Therefore, Ryan and I formed Landry's Legacy. I don't think we imagined just how big it would come, but we are amazed and humbled every year by the number of supporters and the generous donations we received.  The past 2 years I have received top fundraiser and Landry's Legacy has received the top fundraising goal. This year was extra special because Tyler won Top Fundraiser, he raised $723.00. We are so thankful for all of our friends and family who made a donation in his name. Landry's Big Brother won top fundraiser, how awesome and special is that. Landry's Legacy team had 39 members this year and we raised a total of $1,263.00. All of the donations will go to the McLane Children's hospital. I am just proud of Landry, and his precious life. It amazes me that through Landry and his legacy we can make a huge impact in the life of others in need.
We had my parents join us again this year, and Ryan's parents came in town for the weekend and we even had my Aunt Christine from San Diego join as well, what a blessing to have our families with us. Of course, we are even more blessed by so many special friends that love us and and continue to honor and remember Landry. Ryan's gym, Crossfit DSP have become proud supporters of Landry's Legacy, so of course they were there for Ryan and our family.
So thankful for a wonderful weekend, and even more thankful it is Spring Break this week!! Off to enjoy a family movie night, with two of my boys.

The Doc Is In

We are on the mend. Georgia Kate was back to making little (not big like normal) messes today, so I know we are trying to feel better. I love this precious face and her love for blankets.... her silkies/lovies . ;)

Batter UP

More like, next sport starting. Today was officially Ty's first day of T-ball practice (this means not playing in our yard which we do a lot).  He was super excited and he loved showing off his new glove that Daddy bought for him last night. Thankfully, Ryan is the coach of T-ball so we are in wonderful hands.
So proud of Tyler and his love for ALL sports. Our week nights are now full, but we are loving every minute of it. Me and Georgia Kate had to miss practice but we hope to be at the next one.
Our team name is the Ranger's so perfect hat choice for Tyler and a even more perfect name for our family. Good call, Ryan. ;) And I know Ty's Poppy is proud of his shirt choice for the first practice, as well. Ty put on his baseball pants as soon as he got home from school. He was so excited, and he did it all himself. So grown up and so handsome. We love you, slugger.

Snuggles

Sick, AGAIN!! Sweet Georgia Kate started running a low temp on Monday but seemed ok, by yesterday her temp was 101 and she was very lethargic and not eating. Thank goodness for her new princess cup, because she was always drinking water and never let the cup go. I got her in to her Pediatrician, and it is just a nasty virus that has to run its course. Once on Tylenol should would perk up for a little bit, but still just not herself. This morning was the same as yesterday, but around 4 after another dose of medicine she seemed to perk up a little more than yesterday. I hope that we are on the mend and it leaves our house for good. I am really over all this sickness. It just breaks my heart to see her so miserable. GK is so energetic and full of life that when she is sick, you can tell.
Of course, this week was not the ideal week for this to happen. But then I remind myself to be thankful that I have precious little girl to take care of when she is sick... in sickness and health.

Spring Soccer Season

Spring Soccer Season officially kicked off on Saturday with our first game. Well, if you count practices it was underway 2 weeks ago. ;) Ty was so excited and he even scored 2 GOALS!! What a great way to start the season. We love cheering on our favorite player and just so proud of Tyler for always doing his best. We celebrated with lunch at Jack N The Box (very random pick by Ty... we never eat there) with Ghee and Poppy.
We have one more week until Spring Break and I am so ready. This week is FULL so next week will be needed for sure.
