Landry's Legacy

So proud of our biggest. He participated in the 1 mile fun run and also received a very special honor.

Thank you, Crossfit DSP for all your support. Ryan ran and completed his first 10k yesterday, as well. So proud of you Ryan.

Tyler has his class bear this  week for Spring Break so he joined us at  the race. Tyler with two of his classmates, Kaitlyn and Lilly.

My sweet Amma, was so thrilled to have a one of Landry's shirt. We had a special family dinner on Friday and were so thankful to have my sweet, Amma with us.

Yesterday was the 3rd annual Landry Legacy 10k, 5K, and Kids fun run/walk. 3 years ago we decided to form a team with a local race in town, the St. Patrick's Day run benefiting the McLane Children's Hospital Scott & White. The Junior League started working with this race in the Spring of 2010, when I was pregnant with Landry, and the league has now formed a partnership with them. Therefore, in 2011 I was encouraged to form a team in honor and memory Landry. Therefore, Ryan and I formed Landry's Legacy. I don't think we imagined just how big it would come, but we are amazed and humbled every year by the number of supporters and the generous donations we received.  The past 2 years I have received top fundraiser and Landry's Legacy has received the top fundraising goal. This year was extra special because Tyler won Top Fundraiser, he raised $723.00. We are so thankful for all of our friends and family who made a donation in his name. Landry's Big Brother won top fundraiser, how awesome and special is that. Landry's Legacy team had 39 members this year and we raised a total of $1,263.00. All of the donations will go to the McLane Children's hospital. I am just proud of Landry, and his precious life. It amazes me that through Landry and his legacy we can make a huge impact in the life of others in need.
We had my parents join us again this year, and Ryan's parents came in town for the weekend and we even had my Aunt Christine from San Diego join as well, what a blessing to have our families with us. Of course, we are even more blessed by so many special friends that love us and and continue to honor and remember Landry. Ryan's gym, Crossfit DSP have become proud supporters of Landry's Legacy, so of course they were there for Ryan and our family.
So thankful for a wonderful weekend, and even more thankful it is Spring Break this week!! Off to enjoy a family movie night, with two of my boys.
