National Pregnancy and Infant Loss

In 1988, Ronald Reagan designated the month of October as "National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month" and later in 2002, October 15th became the official "Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day." The number of women affected by this type of loss is staggering, and I never in a million years would have imagined that I would one day be included in this "club." If you know of someone who has experienced this type of loss, I encourage you to let them know you remember their child. I personally can tell you that nothing means more to me than when someone tells me they still think and remember our littlest. Not to mention, I absolutely love to hear his name spoken aloud. That name makes me proud. So I encourage you to seek out that person you may know; I assure you it will warm their heart.
I know that it does not take a special "day" to remember Landry and his life, because daily I am thankful for Landry and the impact he has made on our life. However, I am truly encouraged by this day and how it is a gentle reminder that you are not alone on this journey and so many other women walk this road of  loss and heartache.
I came across this today and I think it fits with day perfectly:
Remembering
by Elizabeth Dent.
Go ahead and mention my child,
The one that died, you know.
Don't worry about hurting me
Further.
The depth of my pain doesn't show.
Don't worry about making me cry.
I'm already crying inside.
Help me to heal by releasing
The tears that I try to hide.
I'm hurt when you just keep silent,
Pretending he didn't exist.
I'd rather you mention my child,
Knowing that he has been missed.
You asked me how I was doing.
I say "pretty good" or "fine."
But healing is something ongoing.
I feel it will take a lifetime.

Action Shots

I found my camera cord!! Since we are currently in a rent house and down sized in size and storage our garage is FULL of extra furniture and tons of FULL boxes. Ryan has it all organized according to importance, but it still is a little overwhelming to me. Thankfully, the box I was wanting was easy to find.
Tyler had a great first game on Saturday and his favorite part is that he is #8! Tyler has been #8 since we started soccer, so it was so special that he is still #8 on his new team. I really think the major differences is it is a co-ed league and their is a goal keeper. But overall is great to have Ty involved in something outside of school. We have all been a little stir crazy, so this will help. We are ready for a fun learning experience with a new league in a new City.
I will say that a part of me was a little "homesick" at the game. I missed the familiarity of the fields and people/friends. I know I should be adjusted by now, but some days and moments are just hard.

Game Day

What a fun and full weekend. Tyler's soccer season officially kicked off yesterday morning with a parade and then his first game. We were so thankful to have both sets of Grandparents to help us cheer on Tyler and the rest of the Tigers. I actually brought my "real" camera and got some action shots, but of course I can't find my camera cord to download the pictures. Oh, the joys of moving!
I did not get to watch the first half of the game because GK wanted to play at the park, but thankfully I was able to see the last half. Tyler played really well and had a blast. We are ready for a fun, fair, and positive fall season. Go Tigers!!

Yee Haw

Georgia Kate is obsessed with farm animals. Well, it is a new obsession since moving to Brookshire. We see Horses and Cows everyday. It is not unusual to see them in our subdivision, and she always shouts Yee Haw along with Hi Horse, Hi Cow! Such a friendly Cowgirl. With Gk's Birthday in a few weeks (we will be celebrating with Family this weekend) Ghee and Poppy decided to treat our little Cowgirl to pink boots, pink hat, and a purple horse, which name is Pink. ;) What more could a Cowgirl as for. Me and Georgia Kate had to make a fast trip to Temple on Tuesday afternoon. I got summoned for Jury Duty and had to go and get out of it. Ryan also had shirts done for his district, so I went to pick those up and I also got a hair cut. So thank for all the familiarities of Temple. I miss that town every day. But, I am still working hard to find my place in our new town.
So thankful for a weekend full of family watching Tyler play Soccer and celebrating Georgia Kate turning 2. We have a fun few weeks ahead.

Soccer

Ty finally started soccer on Sunday afternoon. It's about time.... finally! Due to the time frame of our move we missed the deadline for the majority of Fall Soccer leagues. Thank goodness we heard about another Houston league titled Fun-Fair-Positive (FFPS). This league starts mid October and runs through the first weekend in December. Which is a lot later that than we are used to, and my first thought was we are going to be playing in freezing weather?!?!  But, I keep hearing it does not get too cold here during this time, so the weather and temps should not be an issue. We kick off our first game of the season on Saturday and we have our favorite Coach again, Ryan. ;)
Tyler is so thrilled to be playing soccer, again. He was getting really restless not having any extra curricular activities. We play in a town 7 miles from Brookshire at a local Elementary School. All practices and games will be at the same location. The best part according to me and GK is there is a play ground right next to the fields. Score!! This means Georgia Kate will be happy and not tempted to run out on the field. She loved warming up with the team yesterday afternoon, and then off we went to the slides.
We can't wait for Saturday and a fun season of Soccer.

Are We There Yet?

We spent lots and lots of hours in our car over the past several days. We spent our long weekend in New Orleans. My Dad was inducted in to his High School's Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday Morning, so we left around mid morning on Thursday and made the drive to Louisiana. This weekend could not have worked out any more perfect with a early release on Thursday and a School Holiday on Friday. It was even more perfect that Ryan could join us. He could not get away as early as we did so he flew out Thursday evening.... a nice one way ticket and short flight.
I will say the Ty and GK did really well on the drive. I bought them some new movies that they had never seen, so between the movies and I pads we were covered with lots of entertainment.
It was such a wonderful and very full past few days and I have several pictures capturing a special weekend honoring my Dad. Such a huge honor and absolute joy for all those that came to celebrate my Dad.
