Last night was JLBC's last Project SMILE event for this League year. Hard to believe next week we will be closing the chapter on this year at our Annual Dinner and opening up a new chapter at the end of this month (May 31). The McLane Children's Hospital Scott and White is top notch and the staff is extraordinary and very appreciative of all our League has done this year.
Last nights theme was Popcorn and Pj's. There was popcorn, candy, crafts (making pillows), and a movie. We were very fortunate to have the Chick Fil A Cow with us. The smiles and laughter that the cow brought was priceless. We had a very entertaining cow which helped and I loved walking room to room on 3 floors with the cow. We always visit the rooms of the kids who can't come down to the event. We bring the party to them! Such a special time for some very deserving children and their families. The cow only scared one sweet little girl who screamed every time she saw him. :)
This was our first year for this Community Project and what a year it was. I am excited to watch this project grow in the years ahead. As I reflect on this year I am reminded how thankful I am for all of the amazing opportunities I have had with JLBC. We truly are doing the most good.
